Keeping Prom Alive

Who says just because you graduated from high school you’re too old for prom?

If you ask my good friend Anessa, who hosts an annual PromAnessa party, she would tell you prom has no age limit.

If you’re itching to relive your high school prom and recycle your Prom Queen tiara but you’re outside of Anessa’s prom VIP circle and can’t score access to her private shindig, spare your taffeta party dress the tear stains. The Bell House in the BK is hosting a “Pretty in Pink Prom Night”. And while it may not compare to Anessa’s balloon arches, prom mixed CDs and PromAnessa-branded party favors (this is not a joke), it's the next best thing.

There’s no night like this Saturday, July 11, to experience the 80s prom experience you never had or can’t remember.

The Bell House’s version features professional photos, awards for Prom King and Queen, free snacks, $3 champagne (let’s face it, you weren’t drinking the fancy stuff in high school), 80s classics (“Jessie’s Girl” anyone?), a live 80s cover band, and the best part – $3 Robicelli’s cupcakes with donations going to UNICEF in memory of Michael Jackson. Maybe there will even be a little “Thriller” action on the dance floor?

Prom tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

Happy slowdancing and making out!
