Central Park Slopes

New York City has a lot things -- mountains are not one of them.

But this Saturday, Central Park is being transformed into a Winter Wonderland that will allow skiers and snowboarders to test their skills in the heart of Manhattan.

Presented by the NYC Parks Department and the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA), Winter Jam NYC is a free annual winter sports festival that takes over the Central Park Bandshell area and encourages New Yorkers to get out and enjoy the cold.

Get into the spirit of the Winter Olympics by snowboarding down the rails, strapping on a pair of cross-country skies or snowshoes, catching a screening of "Red Bull Project X" about Shaun White's Olympic training, or visiting the New York Winter Market for free refreshments from local vendors.

All events are free and take place between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
