Off the Charts

If you're sick of the same old Top 40 songs on heavy rotation at every New York bar, you're not alone. Le Poisson Rouge has heard your gripes.

The "multimedia art cabaret" (p.s. - awesome description!) hosts a once monthly dance music event called Off the Grid, which will dispel the belief that it's all the same 25 songs every weekend night.

A mix of Mutant Disco, Punk Funk, House, No Wave, Early Electro, Synth, Italo and New Romantics coupled with special guest DJs who share the the spotlight each month with the Resident NY DJ Chris Alker of SUBTRAK records.

The best part: it's free.

Take that, Black Eyed Peas.
