A Page from Great Gatsby

Don't be alarmed by the 1920s flapper flair and wafting jazz music set to take over Governors Island this weekend.

The Fifth Bi-Annual Jazz Age Lawn Party, a Great Gatsby-worthy celebration, invites New Yorkers to listen to the sounds of Michael Arenella and His Dreamland Orchestra, enjoy local flavors from Brooklyn Brewery and other vendors and participate in myriad themed activities like Charleston lessons by dance legend Roddy Caravella, taking a spin around the island at the1920s Motorcar Exhibition and perusing vintage clothing dealers' and boutique milliners' wares.

Festivities take place Saturday and Sunday, from 11 AM-6 PM with a reprise August 28 and 29.

Admission is $7 in advance, $10 at the door. Children under 7 are free.
