Disappearing Act

Harry Houdini, the man best known for his dangerous escape tactics (see: Chinese Water Torture Cell escape), is being honored in a special exhibition at The Jewish Museum, October 29, 2010-March 27, 2011.

The exhibition chronicles the magician's daring feats, physically demanding performances and ultimate celebrity. Houdini, who immigrated to America from Budapest, captivated the world with his showmanship, which he chose over his father's rabbinic career path.

Admission to The Jewish Museum is $7.50-$12.
