In case you haven't heard the news: today is World AIDS Day, celebrated globally as a way to raise awareness and increase prevention of HIV/AIDS.
For those willing to brave the rain, Housing Works is hosting a 24-hour AIDS Vigil at City Hall Park in lower Manhattan. Activists, volunteers and those living with HIV and AIDS will memorialize friends and loved ones by reading their names continuously throughout the day.
