Another snowstorm is just around the corner, threatening to leave New York City covered in white powder. With winter in full-swing, it may be time to dust off those ice skates and take a spin around the rink.
The W New York - Downtown has transformed its fifth floor terrace into a 12-by-40-foot synthetic ice rink. Skating in the Sky is open 2pm-10pm daily through February 14. Skaters can sip cocktails (a dangerous proposition for those who ice skate like me -- unsteadily!) and nosh on snacks from BLT Bar and Grill.
Blades are available for rental ($12) or bring your own and enjoy an afternoon of free skating.
