Check, please

Dining out is part of New York culture, but admittedly not the most frugal option.

Recently, the site Restaurant.com was brought to my attention. Visitors search an online network of thousands of restaurants across the United States and buy gift certificates for a fraction of the actual value. After registering an account, you can land $25 gift certificates for $10, save on online take-out and delivery orders and make online reservations.

Today marks the last day of Restaurant.com’s 80% off sale. Using the discount code LUCKY, visitors to the site can score $25 restaurant gift certificates for $2 – that’s soon to be less than it costs to ride the subway!

Bus Stop Café, Havana Central and Il Bastardo are just a few of the places in the city that offer gift certificates through the site.
