Taking Your Christmas List Downtown

From now until December 26, it will be near impossible to avoid red and green tinsled holiday window displays, the jingle of Christmas carols ringing in the season's myriad television commercials and the consumer hustle and bustle taking over Fifth Avenue, which is why FF prefers to take shopping downtown.

While SoHo offers little refuge from the crazy crowds, TheMarketNYC, also known as the Young Designers' Market, provides an alternative to the department stores lining Broadway.

Located in the auditorium of a church on Mulberry Street, TheMarketNYC is an eclectic mix of vintage and homemade jewelry, clothing and accessories on display by NYC's local up-and-coming designers.

Stop by Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays and chat with the designers.
