End of Summer Celebration

Rumor has it (thanks, Al Roker) that the sun is supposed to grace New Yorkers with her long-awaited presence this weekend. And as New Yorkers, we get cooped up enough in the winter, so give us our last week of August!

As you plan the weekend's outdoor activities, consider a trip to Harlem to partake in the final celebration of Harlem Week -- actually a misnomer as the festivities span the course of a month.

This Sunday afternoon, dancing, djing and chowing on refreshments from local vendors will ensue in Morningside Park as part of the Sundae Sermon, which wraps up Harlem Week. There won't be preaching, just lots of good Afrobeats and soul music and some good old fashioned lawn partying.

The free festival kicks off at  3:00 PM. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and coolers.
