Pumpkins and Hay Rides and Scarecrows, Oh My!

Living in the city, you don't get to see the smiling faces of jack-o'-lanterns lining the front porches of homes like you do in the suburbs. But picking out the perfect pumpkin is always one of the best parts about the fall.

This Saturday, in celebration of the harvest season, the annual Pumpkin Festival will take place in Central Park. It's the perfect weekend outing with family or friends.

From 12:00-5:00 PM, visitors can participate in a scarecrow design contest, win pumpkin giveaways, carve and decorate pumpkins, tour a haunted house, get their faces painted, and listen to live entertainment.

The best part? It's free.
